We were approached by 540WMain to produce videos for their fundraising campaign and we jumped at the opportunity to support them in this way! 540WMain means a great deal to this community in providing antiracism education. We've learned so much from them and we hope that they're able to go above and beyond with the support that they garner from Rochester. Calvin Eaton, the director of 540WMain, had the vision for interviewing people about 540's impact on them. We came up with a few questions that would highlight 540's significance and let our interviewees work their magic. In this video, Linden Burack describes the training that he went through and how he learned about experiences that different from his own that informed his education. We referred to Highland Park Conservancy by a fan (you know who you are) to not only bring attention to Highland Park and its historical significance to Rochester, NY, but also to the monument of Frederick Douglass, and the man behind illuminating that monument and moving it to a more prominent area in the park. Reverend Julius D. Jackson, Jr is that man and we were beyond honored to tell his story as well as the story of Frederick Douglass and Highland Park.
