A DOMINICAN DREAM

Rosa Vargas, the first woman of color to be voted into the Board of Education in Irondequoit, NY shares her experiences growing up in Washington Heights in the 80's as an immigrant. Facing both hardship and success, Rosa tells us her story interwoven with the history of the Taino people, the Indigenous people of the Dominican Republic.
