BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Every Monday in February, we're sharing the stories of Black Historical figures we need to talk about -- many of whom we don't hear about in our classrooms and whose contributions to our history are lost along with the stories, possessions, and records that went along with them. Black History IS American History and we won't ever let anyone forget it. During Black History Month (and beyond), we encourage you not only to share, but to also engage in conversations with us and others in your community about the reasons why we hear so few stories (or the same ones each year) and dive deeper into others who built America into who she is today. Our Black History Month Series was shot, recorded, and edited in collaboration with Irondequoit High School's Diversity Club, Mosaic, and E.R.A.S.E.

Teacher, Abolitionist, Women's Rights Activist, Lecturer, Journalist.
